Launching The Yellow Book website for Willmott Dixon

Liven Creative recently completed an exciting new website for leading independent construction and property services company Willmott Dixon. The Yellow Book is an online manual for efficient design, and an invaluable resource for designers and builders working on Willmott Dixon projects.

A truly engaging user experience
With a secure login, Willmott Dixon users have access to a wide range of useful content based on lessons learned from many hundreds of successful projects. This includes guidance and downloadable resources relating to building structures and ‘envelopes’, plus information on finishes, building services, external works and off-site manufacturing across the sectors Willmott Dixon serves.

With such a wealth of content to share, Liven Creative wanted to ensure a clean and simple navigation experience, so we designed a three-tier navigation structure that allows users to reach relevant content quickly. We also recognised that users would want to bookmark pages for easy reference, so we ensured a straightforward way for them to ‘save’ pages to their personal profiles – simply by clicking on a ‘plus’ icon.

Visual styling
The look and feel of The Yellow Book builds on the visual heritage of the Willmott Dixon brand, using colours in line with brand guidelines to support a seamless user experience. For example, important content is shown in red, with linked content in blue to draw the eye – ensuring key messages and links are clear, and easy to navigate and act upon.

The Yellow Book has become integral to the online experience for Willmott Dixon’s 1,600+ registered users.
