Dino Lunch for Contract Caterer

Liven Creative recently designed planned and implemented an unforgettable theme day experience for Pabulum Catering.

Theme days are a stable for Contract Caters but we wanted to create a theme day experience with a difference – one that was a fully immersive experience.

Liven Creative oversaw the creation of a theme day which took its inspiration from the recently released Jurassic World film. The premise for the theme day was simple, a Dinosaur had escaped and was now roaming around the school.

To generate awareness of the up and coming event, teaser dinosaur floor decals and posters were designed, printed and installed throughout Schools / Colleges.

Working within budget a number of reusable props were sourced, purchased and made to provide students with an experience they wouldn’t forget. On the day, students wondering through the canteen and dining room heard prehistoric jungle noises, and saw dinosaur eggs, large rocks, exotic plants bones, hazard tape, claw marks and then much to their surprise a real life, walking, blinking, biting and roaring Tyrannosaurus Rex!

We designed a range of other printed pieces including a large dinosaur cardboard cut-out, Do Not Enter posters, competition posters and competition cards.

Catering staff were all in Jurassic World inspired uniforms and encouraged students to enter the ‘guess the dinosaur footprint’ competition and to serve the dinosaur inspired menu, which included such delights as Teradactyl wings, and volcanic lava cake.

The students and school staff thought it was fantastic day, and the expressions on the students faces when they realised that they had a real life T-Rex dinosaur amongst them was amazing.

The immersive event has been rolled out at a number of sites and has helped Pabulum to not only increase its daily takings but to build closer relationships with existing sites.
